Is there a good alternate to an Uncle Mike's ankle rig for a Taurus Ultra-light 38?
My nephew is the local store manager for a nation wide drugstore chain. His normal business attire is a dress shirt & slacks. He is a licensed CCW carrier but his current holster is irritating his calf. Does anyone make a calf or ankle holster which might be more comfortable? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Anything is better than an ankle holster, IMHO.
They are impossible to draw from quickly, which is the only way you ever REALLY need to draw a gun.
Look for a tuckable Iwb Holster, or an undershirt holster. Desantis has a good one, and so does 5.11...

Rods, Reels, & Line (Combos)
The perfect combo depends on your destination, your fish, and your style. For spin or bait fishing in small streams and brooks, you need light or ultralight gear. Small streams mean small fish, and the Brookies and other smaller trout are best caught with a flexible ultralight rod 4-5 feet in length. Combos include the reel and line pre-spooled for convenience and economy.

The Parachute Adams fly is another favorite, named for its ability to parachute softly onto the water's surface like real bug. If you're fishing live bait, nightcrawlers are easiest to find at your local shop. A little digging around your fishing hole can also turn up grubs, hellgrammites, or leeches which all make great bait. Lures on the other hand, mimic the small fish trout eat, like minnows. Rooster Tails and the Blue Fox are popular spinner lures. Rapalas are the preferred lure to mimic minnows, and the Nestor Wobbler Spoon lure is my spoon of choice.
Waders, Boots, Hats, & Shades
In the game of trout fishing, you can't just sit on the sidelines. But, before you jump in with both feet, get some waders! Hip waders completely cover the legs up to the waist, while chest waders come all the way up to the chest and back allowing deeper wading. If you will not be in deep waters, a good rubber wading boot like those made by Rocky River or Frog Toggs may be all you need. Remember to be safe when wading in deep waters.
Also, don't forget a good sun hat and polarized sun glasses. Observant fishermen catch more fish. If you are blinded by the sun, you will not be able to identify insect types, water features, and fish activity. In addition, no one wants their fishing trip cut short by an eyestrain headache.
Tackle Boxes & Vests
Tackle boxes come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, and should be chosen based on your gear. Get a box that comfortable fits everything you are likely to use on a particular outing, with some room to grow, but not one so big it's a chore to lug. It's not practical to wade to shore every time you need to change flies, so vests with multiple pockets and secure Velcro or Zipper enclosures can help you take what you need into the water with you. Creels & Nets
The first consideration when choosing creels and nets is whether you are catching and releasing, or catching and eating. Trout are some of the tastiest fish, so eating is a great option, but respect the environment and don't keep more than you will eat. Rubber trout nets are best for catch and release, because they will not injure the fish like thin-mesh nets. A flat bottom panel also helps protect fish you plan to release. Remember to size your net for the fish you are after. If trout is on the menu, split-willow creels or canvas creels are recommended.

Coleman 8D Square Pack-Away Lantern- I bought one and rated at 390 lumens it does seem to put out pretty decent light. I have a 230 lumen flashlight from cree and this seems like it might meet the 390 test but... it runs a 15 watt spiral florescent bulb. What I am wondering is if anyone has tried or what they think about putting a higher wattage bulb in it such as maybe a 20 or 25 watt bulb? Would this just cut down the hours on run time ?

Recently I was presented with the opportunity to review a rather mundane new food product. The offering was a barbecue sauce. The taste was excellent, formulated from an old family recipe. The entrepreneur was in love with the taste, the appearance and the history of the product. It did have excellent presence. But, it did not have enough to be commercially viable as presented. Why?
In order for any new product to be successful the item must offer a clearly recognizable Unique Selling Proposition (USP). A USP is a fancy business school term for the special features and/or benefits that make any new product different, and hopefully better, from competitor's wares. These features and benefits create the differences that enable a product to have an excellent chance at success.
My barbecue sauce review was not positive, not from a sauce standpoint, but from a marketing standpoint. Better ingredients, better recipe or formula, better components, better appearance or taste, or Mom made it so it has to be good are not difference makers. They are claims that every brand makes, and most brands already being successfully distributed support such statements with big sales promotion budgets. Most start-ups and entrepreneurs do not have the ability to shout their story with any strength in a competitive marketplace. We had to address these issues before moving forward on the project with any hope of success.
What to do? In order to create a USP for a new product the entrepreneur must tell a story that creates separation between the new offering and the competition. In the case of the sauce we reviewed, we suggested a duality strategy, an ingredient provenance and process story.
We highlighted the two most distinctive herbs (signing a Secrecy Agreement, which we do with all products we review, does not allow me to be specific about details) and suggested that the product marketing be built on the nurturing, harvesting, artesian craftsmanship of the agricultural techniques utilized and the specific unique geography, topography and climate necessary to derive the luscious taste from the products most influential ingredients.
Then we suggested that the sauce be positioned as a 19th century, hand blended, slowly layered product, cooked in small batches in a copper kettle, under very low temperatures. This is the process feature that further separates this sauce from the other mass produced products that are indigenous on store shelves and offer the sameness of taste and blandness of character that make them virtually inseparable in consumer's minds. We created a process nomenclature unique to this sauce's recipe and gave it a proprietary cooking terminology (again, under Secrecy Agreement).
Now the sauce has a provenance and process story that is simple, understandable and stands apart from the mass marketed competition. The product can be positioned as an upscale alternative, the kind of product that discriminating homemakers will be open to trying. The sauce is being readied now for a spring 2010 market launch in gourmet shops and high end gift stores.
This is an elementary example of a product from a most mundane category that can be positioned to highlight a USP that gives it every chance for success. This type of strategy can be customized to fit almost any consumable product category: cosmetics, hair care, foodstuffs, supplements, house-hold cleaners, etc. The niche carved out by a clearly defined USP is crucial to successfully penetrating the consumer product market. With more and more students carrying their laptops to school these days, there is an increased awareness of finding ways to protect them from damage. As technology has made advances, the use of laptop computers at school has become more permissible in colleges. This trend is usually not common in high schools and lower grades, however more and more college level classes a permitting the use of these computers during class. The more people are using and carrying around their computers, the more likely that damage will be done to them. It only makes sense that the more someone uses something, the more likely it is for something to happen to it. That is why I would like to do a review of the different kinds of cases that students are using to carry their laptops while at school.
So what is the best way t to protect a netbook while at school?
This question is subject to opinion because everyone has their own preferences about it. I for one like to use my bookbag for several reasons which will be mentioned later. Other cases that people use are sleeves and rolling cases. I see a bunch of people using the netbook sleeves because they are easy to use, but they do not provide a whole lot of protection from damage in my opinion. The ability of having the handle to hold onto will decrease the chances of dropping it though. Rolling cases are great, but a little less common for college students these days. As I said earlier more people are using their backpacks to transport their laptops from point A to point B. The reason for this is most likely due to how easy and well that the whole concept works. Students want the easiest and most convenient way to do things these days so the book bag is a very innovative way to so this. Most of the bags these days have a little pocket to slip a laptop in these days and a little protective padding around the pocket. The main idea is that any form of case is better than carrying a laptop around by itself.

MAXPEDITION DODECAPOD 12 - Knife Carry Case...HARD USE GEAR EVERYDAY
So the disc shop I go to sells a few innova factory seconds discs(mostly champion plastic). I was wondering if anyone out there thinks that the "defects" that forces innova to sell these discs at lower than list price really effects the disc or the flight of it? I'm so tempted to buy a new disc lately though I could go without doing so I'm almost thinking of buying a factory second. Or I may just go with a DX model of something nice like a valkyrie. Yeah basically what's anyone's thought on factory second discs from innova.
The Innova X-Out's are great disc especially when you are looking to try new disc. The defects that cause them to sell at a lower price are for the most part completely cosmetic and are things such as a bubble in the disc, a double stamp or a bad coloring job, which can actually look pretty cool sometimes.
I have several molds where I have X-Outs and Regular disc and I can't tell a single difference in the flight characteristics.
While I don't throw much Discraft I have heard very good things about the prices of the Discraft Misprints on this website. http://www.sportdiscs.com/misprints.html. You have to purchase in bundle and can't choose your disc but from looking online the Elite-Z's normally cost around $13 and you can get them there for $6.
Also if you don't want people to know you bought some X-Outs and the disc has an X-Out stamp just grab some acetone (Nail Polish Remover) and it will come right off.
